Oh dear.. Such sad news SHE had when SHE got back from the market. Kaza, favourite fruit seller, told HER that there was a fire last night in the local pet shop.
The Fish Bowl, Dawes Road, London SW6.
SHE has known the shop since it opened in the early 70's, it was run by a charming family and always had an excellent supply of animal food, toys and treats, bedding for rabbits etc, etc and had a few smaller animals for sale.
The very saddest thing is that the fire, which consumed all of the basement and half of the ground floor shop, killed some animals. Luckily the fire brigade were able to rescue quite a few but others were killed by inhaling the smoke.
This included the family's three parrots, an African Grey, two Orange Winged Amazons and the shop's resident 'Mouse Patrol', the three cats who lived in the shop.
SHE knew these three Parrots very well and is so very sad, sad for the birds, sad for all the other animals and most dreadfully sad for the family.
Dear Readers, please make sure YOUR electrics are safe.
When SHE was working, SHE was constantly 'nagging' clients to: check wires, don't over load on adaptors, turn switches off, don't leave things on stand-by and un-plug items if they are not used
every day.
This is such bad and very sad news.
