It is like horses for courses.. what am I talking about? Why music, of course. Ballet, big 'band', classical, church, country & western, jazz. SHE listens to it all at different times.
Say Aranjuez and SHE thinks of the hauntingly beautiful Guitar Concerto, not immediately of the ancient city with its' wonderful palace which is situated almost in the centre of Spain, just south of Madrid.
SHE does not talk about it, does not have it in HER ears all day long by way of an iPod or some other music carrying object. Never listens to it with other people except at concerts..
Concerts.. ah, SHE has been lucky to hear and see some 'greats'.. Elvis. Diana. Buffy. Joan. Cleo & Johnny. EmmyLou. The Stones. The Big O. Wilson Pickett. Beach Boys. Johnny Mathis. David Bowie and helped make the Silver Buddha for one of The Pink Floyd's first ever concerts.. Student's Union, Canterbury Tech, 1966.
The list would go on and on and that's not even counting Luckenbach '96 or Nice in '70, 72, 74 or 2008. Ronnie Scott's on Frith Street in Soho for all those years or all the ballets and classical concerts.
But isn't it funny how some tunes stay in YOUR head for ages and then.. one day, they are gone.
Like I must be going, things to do, boiling water in a steamer to supervise. Yes folks.. I have smelt the very distinctive smell of PROPER Hollandaise sauce being made. I hope YOU make it properly?
Have to count those spears.. one for HER.. two for ME..
