AN ACT OF EXTRAORDINARY BRAVERY & COURAGE IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION..

Dear Readers..

As WE do not know where YOU are located WE do not know if YOU read about an appalling accident which occurred yesterday in Cornwall.

A RHIB, Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat, got out of control and tossed into the water a family of six, a father, mother and their four children.

The father and an 8 year old daughter were killed immediately. Both the mother and an 4 year old son were extremely severely injured and two other young daughters have minor injuries,

As the boat circled round and round, an extremely brave and very courageous man, Charlie Toogood, took it upon himself to board the boat and stop the engine.

SHE sailed with friends in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean seas and the first thing SHE was taught, before SHE ever took the wheel of a boat / yacht under power, was to have the Kill Cord attached to HER wrist.

The purpose of the Kill Cord is to ensure that the
boat's engine would be cut if the person in control goes overboard.

WE do not know the circumstances or details of this tragic accident but summer is coming and that means boats, jet ski's and all other types of engine powered marine craft will be taking to the water.

BEFORE.. YOU leave the jetty / harbour or marina check to see that YOUR Kill Cord is working.

GeeGee Parrot.
