IT IS GRIM OUTSIDE..

But in order to eat YOUR own Garlic, as WE do, YOU first have to plant it.. don't feel too sorry for HER as SHE was, afterall, brought up in depths of the country and knows how to stay dry and warm on these wet and windy days.. so dress for the day is a waxed jacket and waterproof trousers and SHE will be kneeling on a foam pad.

Granny-Jo is probably hot-footing it to Lubbly-Jubbly Fishmonger, she expressed urgent desire for Squiddley-Diddley so SHE sent back an email telling G-J where to find him in the North End Road, if she is clever she will stick her nose in equally Lubbly-Jubbley Butcher, Dickinsons, who sell exceedingly fine meat.

Never be put off by the, sometimes, long queque, there are lots of very helpful staff and everyone is served with charm AND speed!

And, as for ME.. it is far too wet and cold for ME to go to garden, I will stay at home and be snuggly warm all day.

On a day like this, I bet SHE comes home via best-pizza-in-town! For there is nothing like a good helping Chilli-Billi Oil to warm up a gardener!

PIZZA@HOME, on the Old Brompton Road, London SW5. It is almost opposite West Brompton Underground Station.. and it has a bus stop (bus # 74) right outside the door! Tell them that the Grubby Gardener sent YOU.. they will know exactly who YOU mean.

They are so sweet to HER.. they never make a face when SHE comes in covered in mud.. they greet HER with a smile and say "good day for digging?" as SHE disappears to wash HER face and hands.

With which SHE has to go and I am off to choose which of the comfy doors to perch on today... oh, the decisions that a small red bummed bird has to make.

Life, Dear Readers, does NOT get murch better than this!

GeeGee Parrot.
