CHIPPY'S MATE..

YES.. WE went to the garden today to mend little shed.. off to Messrs Homebase to buy treated timber for exterior use.. 8 foot long and 4 x 4 inches.. times two and two bags of ready mix concrete.. and other assorted goodies.

SHE went off to garden and WE, Dean and I got on and two deep holes for the posts.. the job was done really quickly because when SHE laid the foundations for little shed all those years ago, SHE had de-stoned the whole area and dug in a lot of sand so that the paving stones would lie absolutely flat.

A little of the ready mix in with some water.. wait ten minutes, put in the posts, then a little more concrete, each time allowing the time for it to dry a bit so that the concrete dried in layers, this makes for a strond base.

SHE went and dug.. lots of digging and turning over beds.

Then did a very severe pruning of the BIG 'Compassion' Rose bush.. which thought it had a chance of growing into a huge tree! Silly Rose.

Much lopping off long and dead branches so that next years growth will NOT be twenty feet in sky and unable to be picked!

I thoroughly enjoyed SELF.. in fresh air, with food and water and sunlight and I had Dean to chat to.

I have known Dean all my life as he used to be HER driver when SHE was working and I was always with them when they went a'jaunting to see clients or to discuss work with restorers in workshops.. he chatted to ME  and discussed what he was going to do and I gave him MY opinions and views.

SHE was within whistling distance.. WE went to back to Homebase and B&Q, where they were both VERY good about exchanging faulty item, money back immediately AND discount on its' replacement!  Excellent customer relations.. properly trained staff.

And tomorrow more of same.. eight of the clock start.. have to finish at six of the clock because Chelsea are at home to Juventas.. Dean is a Chelsea Fan and has a season ticket.. WE won't be late for that!

Today was eleven hours work.. much strengthening of little shed, time spent shopping for timber etc, time spent taking back faulty item.

But all in all a very successful and extremely pleasant day.

WE are both hungry and sleepy.. as I wrote earlier.. full of fresh air!

GeeGee Parrot.

  1. Sounds like a tiring day to me! But such a rewarding feeling at the end of it.
