BROWN BREAD ICECREAM...

Good day to YOU all.. WE have a sky with blue bits.. a lot of fluffy white clouds are going somewhere in a hurry.. but it isn't raining!

So here in haste.. is the recipe for Brown Bread Icecream..

Very old so bear with ME.. still in ozs!

3 ozs of each of the following:
Wholemeal bread crumbs.
Soft Brown Sugar.
Icing Sugar.

3/4s of a pint of Double Cream.

1 large Egg White.

Gas mark 4 or 180 degrees.

Sprinkle breadcrumbs onto baking tray.
Cover these with sugar.
Toast in oven until crumbs are browned and sugar has melted.
Remove, allow to cool, then crush finely with rolling pin.
Whip double cream, add icing sugar and whip again.
Add crumb mixture.
Beat white of egg till very stiff.
Fold carefully into crumb and cream mixture.
Pour into pint sized container and freeze.

Take from freezer 20 minutes before you want to eat it.

If you like Crystallised Ginger, chop up a few pieces very finely and add to mix before you put in egg white.

Enjoy this with HER lurve..

SHE has a so-called sister-in-law in Paris.. the woman was very, very rude to HER once in front of Constance.. BIG mistake.

'The Concubine'.. as she was called by Hugo and Constance.. went to stay with Constance in Spain and Constance served a dish of this for lunch.. SHE had jurst being staying with Constance and had made a couple of the icecreams and put them into the freezer..

Rude woman.. expressed delight at eating such a delicious dish and asked Constance "what is this?".. Constance - who could be and
WAS incredibly norty sometimes.. replied "I don't know.. it is one
of .... secret recipes, SHE has never given me the recipe"..which was actually true, because SHE always made it for HER mother..

But YOU know it..

GeeGee Parrot.
