THE ANGELA FLANDER'S SHOP WAS SHUT! OH, THANK GOODNESS SHE'D PUT ANGELA'S TELEPHONE NUMBER ON HER MOBILE.

And a few minutes later, she was greeting her old friend. The shop smelt DIVINE.. it always does! The window was dressed, as always, like a stage set with a full complement of the prettiest of pretty things and, if you know the shop or its' sister in Artillery Passage, then you'll not be surprised to hear that Angela had a 'past' life in the theatre!

Up the stairs into her beautiful home and into the kitchen to make tea and to greet 'Little Girl', who is an exquisite pure white car with the biggest plume of a tail.. "She's how old now?.. Angela smiled and said "she's just a bit over fifteen years but doesn't know it!"

She arrived with Angela at 15.45 and left at 19.15, where does time go when you're with old friends and have catching up to do? She replenished her stock of Caspian and took a sample of the 'peaty' smelling delicious Cologne which Angela developed for Johnny Walker Whisky, which she'll send to Patrick.

Patrick Millet is someone she met when she was nine. He's a few years older than her and had an extraordinary career. He is French, and was, for many years, one of the only four MV.. stands for Master of Wine.. in France.

Strange huh, you'd think there would be many more of them, there maybe more now. Anyway, he had this most amazing career and ended up at Whisky Master of Diageo.. they make Johnny Walker Whisky.. not shabby. And as this cologne was commissioned by Diageo but after Patrick retired, he may not have smelt it, so it'll go in the post to him this week.

Time to leave.. she kissed her friend goodbye and said "it's been far too long, let's meet up and do a walk up onto Broadway Market for a happy lunch", they grinned at each other, for that is something they've done in the past and thoroughly enjoyed doing!

She walked along Columbia Road and back up onto the Hackney Road and caught a bus to Liverpool Street Station, then wiggled her way by foot through onto Old Broad Street and then through up to Threadneedle. Yes, she knows 'the' city very well but is horrified by the amount of building that is happening, huge numbers of totally faceless blocks are being built / have gone up everywhere.

Home in the dark, but at least if wasn't chucking it down with rain as it had been doing on her way over there. The streets were busy even at 20.15 and the buses were full. She guessed there were lots of people coming back into the city after the holiday period for many offices have been closed since Christmas Eve.

And tomorrow.. is D DAY! She hasn't put one foot, let alone two of them, onto a scale for two weeks and tomorrow at 13.00 she'll be taking as many outer layers of clothing AND her shoes off, in order to step on and weigh-in and she's 'hoping'.. huh.. praying that she's not gained anything!

If you hear an angry squawk, it means she's gained weight (she was 9 stone 12.5 lbs which is 62.823 kilos), if you hear a happy squeal, it means she's the same or she's lost some weight.

It's anyone's guess, I'll spill the beans tomorrow night. Now, where's that quarter of orange she bribed me with half an hour ago, she said "now come along BumBum, take your medicine and I'll give it to you".. "well, where is it."

GeeGee Parrot.
