She occasionally used to purchase the odd Lotto ticket. But being of a frugal nature, she hadn't bought one for many years and certainly not since they upped the price to £2.00!
So I have no idea what possessed her to purchase one about a month ago but using a combination of important numbers, she won £25.00 as three of her numbers were drawn. Two Saturdays ago she had two numbers and won herself a 'Lucky' dip, ie a free go on Lotto which was the week before last.
That didn't win her anything but she placed a 'bet' for last Saturday, she only plays the Lotto on Saturday night, you have to draw a line somewhere otherwise she'd be spending a minimum of £8.00 each and every week! And, she is not going to do that.
Three of her numbers came up last Saturday, so this afternoon she put on a cold weather coat, pulled on Beanie and took her winning ticket off to the 'Lotto shop' as she calls it to collect her £25.00 winnings and whom should she meet? A dear friend who lives near-by who said "come for tea".
How nice was that? She had a cup of LapySang, they're sweet enough to keep this tea especially for her and a minute slice of Stollen, a tiny slice, she's NOT getting on those scales next Monday to be told "you've gained more weight". That's for sure.
She stayed for an hour, then kissed the family goodbye and walked home, she'd met a friend, had tea, a slice of cake AND won twenty five pounds.. what could be nicer?
She's easy to make happy, she had remembered to take the tuna out of Frosty-Larder this morning, it's defrosted and we'll have it for supper at about 8 o'clock.. that'll make both of us very happy.. slurp.
And in the meantime, I'm destroying this small cardboard box and I am / it's making such a mess but it's allowed 'cos she gave it to me. She knows kids should be allowed to have fun and play. Ain't that the truth, Dear Readers, in fact, everyone should be allowed to have fun and play, whatever age you are.
We certainly do.. catch the grape and chase the almond are two of my favourite games.
