THE FRONT DOOR'S WIDE OPEN.. THE NUMPTY TEAM ARE BACK & OUR BIG COUSIN BRUCE IS COMING TO STAY!

Yes, the numpties are back again.. sigh.. and we've retreated to the bedroom as they're incapable of working 'tidily' in one place at a time. They have to make a easily accessible hatch in the hall ceiling and another in the bathroom so that an annual inspection can be made of the boiler flue.

There are metres of copper piping to be painted white and a large section of skirting board in the sitting room has to be repaired and painted and the hot tap has to be replaced in the bathroom as it is causing the boiler to malfunction.

What a good thing that our weather is 'mild' today, looking out of our window there isn't a patch of blue to be seen, what there is, is a 'sheet' of rather murky pale beige-grey sky which seems to be lying just on top of the trees. However, this does mean that we are protected from Old Jack, aka Frost..

So there hasn't been any good news today. A husband and wife team were shot dead after carrying out a killing spree at a Centre for Disabled people in San Bernandino, California. Britain has started bombing Isis. Other things are depressing in the news and the world is, we think, a sad place.

Now we could just wallow in this sadness but we have to get out of this state of mind and remember the pleasant, kind things that happen, sometimes on a daily basis, to us. Like being greeted by name on Monday by the friendly woman in the Post Office, on being given a bottle of her favourite cologne, 'Bain de Caron' by Tereza because we took care of her post when she was away in the summer.

The email that came out of the blue from an old friend and this, which made us especially happy, a request from our BIG cousin Bruce asking if he could come and stay for a few days after Christmas. How nice is that.

Thank goodness numpty is finishing his work, for this will give the paint time to dry and she will, finally, be able to start the mammoth task of sorting out the back room. She can't do the shelves in the secret stash place before January as Wizard is needed to do the drilling in to the concrete wall but she will place everything that will be going back in there on one side and make a clear path from the door to the sofa bed!

And we are having supper with Leigh and Ossie in Kew, they have two feline people, Phoebe and Otto, poor Otto never believes his eyes when he sees me sitting on her head, he retreats to his bed and lies facing the radiator. Phoebe doesn't stay in the cosy big kitchen and makes a bee-line for the airing cupboard.. cosy place airing cupboards! There's a cat called Marmite who loves in Kent who'll vouch for that.

So the first of the grinders is leaving, she'll choose which one later on today. But dearest Leigh and Ossie will be a bit shocked as they've only ever seen me with all my clothes on.. I do look strange at the moment, I must confess.

But hey-ho, I'm still me, an Congolese African Grey Parrot who writes this 'ere Blog to amuse, baffle, educate and astound you all.. PipPip.

GeeGee Parrot.
