Another rant, but you will, or must, admit, that it's ridiculous for an AIR MAIL package to take such a long time to be delivered. It went into the system on November 30th, entered the USA on December 6th at Kennedy Airport but hasn't yet arrived at its' destination in NYC and to add insult to injury, she paid a hefty whack for this postal lunacy!
She hopes that someone hasn't stolen it.. for it's a present and a cheerful one too! She'll be filing a claim in a weeks time for the value of both the gift and the postage, that's for sure.
Who watched Professional Masterchef last night? Wow, what a difference between the team last night to the team we watched on Wednesday night! Wednesday's team catered a party at the Law Society, the guests raved about the food, as did Marcus and Monica, the three plates of food looked pretty and tasted wonderful.
Last night, the next team were catering for a dinner at Lords and apart from the starter by the Italian chef which looked pretty and tasted good, the next two courses were 'beige' and unappealing to the eye. I am the first to admit that we eat 'beige' food at home but we're not hotly contesting against another team or anyone else for the title of Professional Masterchef 2015!
On Wednesday the five contestants had excelled themselves at the Law Society dinner.. imagine if you can or will.. a white chocolate cheese cake rolled in the thinnest layer of fresh strawberry jelly.. the sheer 'joyfulness' of the plate cannot be described well enough to do it justice, go on line and search for a photo of it and lick your lips!
Then they returned to the studio kitchen to create a magnificent meal to qualify for the semi-final.. NO PRESSURE! Huh..
All five men pulled out all the stops, each plate of food was wonderful, looking beautiful and tasting superb, the five of them went away whilst the judges, Marcus Waring and Monica Galetti, ran through the men's work at the Law Society dinner where they had worked brilliantly as a team and then discussed their individual dishes cooked in the studio kitchens.
The men came back, Marcus said "This has been an incredibly difficult job for us as all of you have done amazing work today" and then he said "but we can only take the very best chefs through and these are the contestants who will go through into the semi finals" and he spoke out the names very slowly.. all five names!
We were a little 'wet-eyed' here, so too, were the five guys and the judges. For the praise was high indeed, their food had been brilliant and so, quite rightly, all five men went through to the next round.
Last night saw only three out of the next five went through. One contestant, quite surprising, completely lost his 'way' and as soon as you saw his finished plate, we KNEW he wasn't going through, both judges were quite visibly surprised by his dish, he had been producing great food up until Thursday. But with the five guys on Wednesday, there wasn't a plate of 'beige' food in sight!
Crack on guys.. let's see some more amazingamazing food and may the best man win.. and the final is being shown on Christmas Day.
