WHERE did all 'this' stuff, aka dudu, come from? As per the title of this post, she didn't get dressed in street clothes this morning, she pulled on a pair of leggings and a sweater and 'set about' mucking out the back room.
She had to start at the doorway because she wasn't able to get into the room but could only squeeze around the edge to the window. Oh dear, WHAT a muddle and what a mess. Where does she think we live, in a huge flat with large store rooms and out-houses?
She has to cull and give or throw away, there are things that need to go to the allotment and now has plans to put shelves up in the old coal vaults, they'll take the flower pots and equipment which she uses to start vegetable plants in Spring. They do not need to be inside our home, do they?
But there were two huge bags which she didn't recognise.. huh.. lookielookie.. they're full of clothes and shoes that our Lebanese friend gave us just before the numpties arrived to do the heating and they got buried. She'll take those to Trinity tomorrow
After a lot of pushing things around the flat, we're able to see the sofa! The poor room could not yet be classified as a sitting room but at least Bruce will have a bed on which to sleep and there's a clear path in and out of the room, but the dining chairs and table are hidden under goodness knows what!
She had problems moving the table back into place, so pulled up the skirt to see what was stopping it move.. well.. goodness me! Dagga's original cage! She going to call Parrot Rescue UK to come and collect it and the huge one that I hate, for I do not need three cages! And they always need big cages and toys for birds that they rescue.
She put the lamps to one side underneath the window, she can't put them back into our secret store room as she has to photograph them and send them to her old decorator clients. The shelves can't be done until Wizard drills the concrete walls and that won't happen until January as Wizard flies home today to be with his family in Sydney for Christmas and the New Year.
Papers.. oh, dearie me.. papers, she swears that if there are two loose papers, they rub together and make babies! There'll be work for old shredder. Old stuff she's no need of, the only things she needs are the work books, they've all the details of every job that was done. As for the rest.. out it goes!
Well, she's made a start, at this rate she'll pull the room together by December 27th when Bruce arrives, three weeks in which to look at everything and either pack it away, give it away, or throw it away, gardening stuff to be put into thick plastic bags and pit out underneath the pavement or taken out to the allotment.
Indeed, it was worth her not getting dressed and staying home and doing the dreaded 'room' work! I watched but stayed high up out of dangers reach on top of the door. She's now bathed and is in clean pj's. We had a delicious supper, skinless chicken joints, cooked slowly over a low heat for three hours, with lots of vegetables.
Szechuan pepper, chilli and ginger gave the extra zing which made this simple stew really tasty, I enjoyed a saucer of the vegetables and meat, I love sweet potatoes and cooked like this, they're truly slurpy.
No rain today here in deepest Knightsbridge, we hope that it has lessened up north. The photos of the flooding are shocking and extremely frightening and saddening for all the families concerned.. sigh.
