SUGAR & SPICE.. ARE WORTHY OF A TRAIN RIDE!

Here I am, just where I promised you I'd be.. and I am here to tell you about finding goodly things. But let's go back to the beginning, as you know it's my favourite place to start the telling of a tale.

She discovered the 99p store on Streatham High Road many years ago and it has always stocked very desirable things. Like, for instance, the BIG Yardley's bathsoaps, kilo bags of old fashioned Washing Soda, clever things for the house and brilliant things for the garden.

ALl of her soft fruit bushes came from there and each year they've given her better and better fruit. Likewise with her rose bushes, Joro and Compassion being, I think, her favourites. They also did a clever range of spices in grinders, not those small silly grinders that you couldn't get at, these you could refill and all the ones out at the allotment came from there.

Then recently came a dreadful day.. she went up to this great store to get a grinder of Caribbean Jerk seasoning, only to find the store was closed and being turned into a Poundland store.. "Noooooo", she cried. But yes, it happened, Mr. 99p had sold out to Mr. Poundland.

Now, there's nothing wrong with Poundland and she's bought things there very happily but 99p stores had a better and larger choice of items and they always stocked these great herb and spice grinders. So she went back to the new Poundland store but all the good 99p stock had gone.. oh, boohoo.

However, having returned home with no loot in old WW, she remembered that she had an Italian Seasoning grinder in the kitchen, would that have any details on it about the company? And yes, like the proverbial canary it sang, giving her the companies details!

The Spice Maker London is the name of the company and it's a new branch of an existing company, that many of you may already know, called Mamy Sugarcraft. They sell all manner of items for Cake Decoration.

She emailed Sugarcraft and placed an order, then as she is ancient with a Travel Pass, and having discussed her order with Yana Alli, she hopped on a train today to collect her box of grinders, her order was of Caribbean Jerk / BBQ Grinder, Chilli & Garlic Salt, Himalayan Salt, Thyme Lemon & Bay Salt, Szechuan Pepper Chilli Salt & Ginger, Italian Seasoning.

Multiples of each.. why so many? Well most of her friends like to cook and what better than to give them a gift of something delicious, which they will use and which they can refill! Yes, these clever, very good grinders can be unscrewed so you can fill them up with a little bit of anything you want.

And don't worry.. they will post your order to you, she collected hers because she wanted them in a hurry.

Here's the rest of the Spice & Herb range. They do pots of 6 Spice Collections: Italian, Indian & Mexican. Then single jars of Chicken Spice, Fish Spice & Meat Spice. Sugar & Spice Gift Sets. A set of three Spice Mills and Ceramic Grinders and finally, they do Rubs: Peri-Peri, Caribbean Jerk Rub, Cajun BBQ Rub, Garam Marsala Rub & Smoked Steak Rub.

And, as you know, Sugar and Spice are all things nice!
