This is a short, in fact, a tiny post. It is a tribute to the singer Percy Sledge who died yesterday at the age of 74.
She played this song hundreds of times when she worked as a dj.. it was a tune that was absolutely guaranteed to fill a dance floor with couples doing a 'slow' dance ~ with a lot of smooching going on and she and a couple of men were known to have danced to it as well.. for surely, there ain't nuthin' like a slow dance when you are with the one you love..
He had surgery for liver cancer in 2014 but resumed touring again and died of natural causes in a hospice in Louisiana.
RIP Percy.. and she says to tell you "thanks for all those good times".
