SOMEONE'S IN DEEP DUDU AND IT AIN'T ME FOR A CHANGE!

She took a bag to be restitched a few years ago to a smart shop.. they make saddlery and are French.. you know who they are. It is a lovely bag, she was given it for a belated 21st birthday present.

No one has ever contacted her about the bag although she did go in sometime ago and try to chivy them along as it was taking MUCH longer than the quoted three months! Today she had to go to see them about another bag and took her receipt for the first bag with her and a card to pay for the repair work.

But.. oh dear.. oh.. dearie dearie me.. for her bag is nowhere to be found! Luckily the young lady who booked the bag in for repair had written, in full, all the details, colour, size, model name etc.. so there is NO question about this bag being something else.

She left a poor woman.. the head of all the leather section.. looking very worried indeed. For she has the receipt and there's the entry in their repairs book logging the bag into their care for repair, but where is this valuable bag?

Then she went to Wills and Probate in High Holborn, only to be told that ALL wills and Probate records, even the very ancient ones which were in those huge old books dating back into the 1600's, are now on-line and you can do the search to find them and get the probate date and number but you have to pay £10.00 to actually get the will to look at it.

God help us if some nutter decides to hack into this system and take the records 'down', for we will be up the swanee without a paddle, that's for sure!

She has had the most glorious thing happen. You may remember a post about Marc-Whitney, a young Frenchman who stayed with her family circa 1965 - 66. We traced someone who is not a blood relation but who said "that her trying to trace him was an amazing coincidence!

For they did not know about him but there is, at this very moment, a biography being written about his English Godfather, whose life was saved by Marc-Whitney's very young mother when she helped him escape in France from the Germans in WW2.

So we are on the trail folks.. as that French saddlery company is.. for they will have to replace this missing bag.. named after a pretty American filmstar who married a Prince and lived in Monte Carlo!

Now it is time to slurp-the -durp.. she has bought Sea Bass fillets for our yumyum, done on a flat griddle, oh, they're so good. So I am off.. but I want to tell you who is ready and waiting to say a magic phrase to her tomorrow.. it is one of our Muguet de Bois.. aka Lily of the Valley.. who is absolutely on schedule with a tall green slender spike topped with a lot of snow-white bells.

This is so clever of this plant, as really the weather has been beyond iffy and yet she's right on time for tomorrow, you know what to say tomorrow, don't you? No, of course, I am not going to say it.. that is tempting fate.. but it involves the outdoors and a number and a month.. the rest is up to you to work it out but say it tomorrow.. NOT today!

GeeGee Parrot.
