"Hey Ho Hey Ho.. it's off to work I go", she said and off she went.. I had flapflapped to our bedroom and was listening to Mr. James O'Brian. It was a bright sunny day with a bite in the wind, you really did have to walk on the sunny side of the street, as the other side was not at all nice!
It was a busy day at the shop, she went to get change for the till and coming back into the shop she was just behind an old friend of hers, Gilly, whom she hasn't laid eyes on since 1998! She and her husband, Murrray, were guests at the Red Sock Party which I wrote about a very long time ago, so that was a pleasant surprise.
There were many boxes of things to unpack and sort out, there was a glorious old porcelain bowl in immaculate condition in one box, it was unmarked but it is undoubtedly French and there was an equally pretty blue and white Royal Copenhagen fruit dish, also in excellent condition.
And LOTS of books, dvd's and cd's to unpack, all of which had to be priced and put out together with a huge amount of fine art catalogues from the world's auction houses. The dealers and art teachers all love them and they sell well. People are so incredibly generous with their donations to our shop, Trinity Hospice, as it is a London based charity and the hospice itself is an old and very well respected one.
She is home and when we've finished this.. it will be time for Fish-is-the-Dish for tonight. YumYum, I love fish of all sorts but most of all, I am just crazy-daisy about Macherel, oh yes indeed, I find it most slurpydurpy. She cooks the fillets on a griddle.. plain.. with a bit of black pepper, that's all.
So that's where we will be going, to YumYum HQ and afterwards, she's got work to do and I'll sit on her head, just to make sure she does it correctly.
