GET A GRIP.. BE BRAVE.. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HORRID THINGS.. ETC.. ETC.

You are wondering what on earth I'm talking about, aren't you? Well, she went to see the Audiologist this morning and it was not great.

She thought that the lovely young technician was just doing her job last week and that she was being called back for a regular 'check up' as they do.

Wrong, the sweet 'slip-of-thing' had been been so shocked at how high she had to set the new hearing aids that she, literally, pressed the emergency button.

There was no cancelled appointment this morning, the person she saw was the Head Audiologist. Who tested her hearing very thoroughly and also the pressure. Both have deteriorated hugely since 2010 and she is to be scheduled for a head scan.

The woman was sweet when she told her this, she sat and held her hands and was extraordinarily kind and gentle with her. Her GP will be informed, the ENT Dept. are being notified and an appointment date for the scan will fixed.

She took new moulds of both of her ears and showed her the new back units that she will be given when the moulds have been made. They discussed her herbal remedies for clearing her sinuses and eustachian tubes, which were approved as they are non-invasive.

She was given a prescription of a saline spray with magnesium that she has to use last thing at night as the pressure in one ear was particularly bad / low and she thinks there maybe a slight infection.

She left the hospital in shock. It was a sunny bright day, she walked up to and along the North End Road, she just waved at Karen, for she didn't want to stop and chat and then walked all the way back home up the Fulham Road. Chelsea were playing at home and the area was packed with supporters and shoppers.

It all seemed like a dream.. one minute she was 'fine and happy', then someone was telling her that, potentially, there maybe something wrong and they need to scan her head.

Good thing she has a nice jaunt planned tomorrow.. let's hope Goatie Mum finds the tube of Harissa Sauce for the Dumplings.

Oi vey.. as I say.. oi vey.. not a great day. But tomorrow will be better, for she WILL get a grip and suck this up.. for that is what you do.

GeeGee Parrot.
