Good morning to you all.. and here, in deepest Knightsbridge, it IS a very good morning, very bright, very chilly-billy but dry, which is good as she and Wicker Wheelie have much trotting about to do out there today.
We have broken that dreadful fast with buttered eggs, rye toast and she had two cups of the coffee that she brought from The Algerian Coffee Shop. Their January special offer is called 'Algerian' and it is, from the look on her face, mighty good and strong.
Which brings me to the title of this post.
Who does NOT like the taste of Coffee or Chocolate? Well, I can count but I can't see many hands waving in the air, so I will tell you about a gift she received recently from les filles.. aka Georgia, Rebecca and Tereza.
They came in a pretty paper bag, a tin of mixed Swiss Chocolates, a box of Cherry Liqueurs and then these.. a cute box of 18 dark chocolates each containing a shot of 100% Arabica coffee.
She has never seen these before and no, she does not prowl the aisles of supermarkets looking for new brands or products made with chocolate but you would assume that the company who make them would, if they were for sale here in the UK, have done a bit of advertising.
These were bought in Italy, we think, for all of the information on the container is in Italian.
Now, in the olden days, she would have been hot-footing it off to the wonderful manager of Safeways on the Kings Road. He was absolutely amazing! As were the rest of his staff who ran that shop. She took several products to him that she had brought overseas and asked him if he could get them.
The first she took him was Green Tabasco.. he put a little on his finger and tasted it.. "oh yes, I'll certainly get this in, it's great' and sure enough, she received a call from the store saying "We've got it". ZipLock bags were another product that he found and stocked, he would have had these in a nano-second.
The company imports their other products here into the UK, so how come we haven't seen these little cuties on display?
Now then come along, all you coffee and chocolate lovers, let's unite and ask for them! Because we're worth it!
