Poor man, he wasn't a numpty after all.

She had to get Cypress essential oil urgently, that's why she took off out of here in such a fashion earlier today. When she came back, we then 'hung' about waiting for numpty to arrive. When he came, she said "why didn't you make sure you had all the corresponding meter numbers Ramir".

And he scowled at her and said "but I did! I don't undertstand why they sent me back again but THIS time I'm going to take a photograph of it, so that there will be no doubt that it IS the right one".. and then she 'got it', the silly managing agents had done this deliberately.

Anyway, she apologised to Ramir and said "in future Ramir, always take the meter reading by way of a photograph as it then clearly shows those stupid secretaries the meter number and the reading", he agreed and went off, as annoyed with them as she was!

She sent them an email telling them that it had been a stupid waste of Ramir's time as he had given them the correct figures and that next time the meters needing reading, they were to send some between the hours of 08.00 - 09.00.. only.

She grabbed a long jacket, gloves, basket and a Beanie, for it might have been a bright sunny day and 8 degrees but the wind chill factor was high.. brrr. A bus took her up Shaftesbury Avenue to Chinatown and she went into Garrard Street to get rice vermicelli, lots of ginger root and Chinese greens.

Pak Choi and Kai Lan, yum, our favourite is Kai Lan, we do grow both at the allotments but they don't self seed sadly, unlike Mizuna. However, we can at least buy it from the Chinese supermarkets when we can't grow it ourselves in the Winter.

She bought her weekly supply and was about to catch the bus home when the idea of a simple but slurpy Chinese meal came into her mind and "why not" she thought to herself. So she turned and went into one of the scruffy restaurants off the main street, the waitress, who has known her for many a year, smiled at her and Chinese tea and chopsticks were brought.

A hot and spicy soup was followed by spicy duck on noodles with greens.. ahh, do you get know why she was having Chinese food! Think about it, she's after that sinus blasting, cold and germ killing chilli oil! Hot and spicy food is one of the best way to get rid of a thick head and rattly cough. A pot of hot clean Chinese tea also helps.

Feeling a great deal better, she smiled at the girl, who never seems to age, paid the small bill and went out onto Shaftesbury Avenue to catch a bus back home.

In the dark and cold.. cold, it was bitterly cold, it won't be much above zero tonight, that's for sure.

Basket unpacked, vegetables into chilly white larder, me fed and watered. Street clothes off and into the warmest fleeciest pj's she could find, plus she has a new use for that cardigan Pat gave her, it's too big for her now, she seems to have shrunk in the last couple of weeks, and it makes the most perfect.. Bed Jacket!

Don't all roar with laughter.. it's pretty and keeps her very snug, as we don't like sleeping in too hot a bedroom, this is the perfect solution!

And that, Dear Readers, brings us almost to the end of the first week of Spring. Now if only it could be persuaded to get just a little bit warmer but they're saying we are in for bone-chillingly cold weather this month and that we might have snow for Easter, gee thanks guys, just what the shepherds, goaty folks and gardeners want to hear. Hibernation sounds attractive, do Parrots hibernate, or could we?

GeeGee Parrot.
