10 ORANGES FOR £1! LUCKILY, THERE WERE GRAPES & COX'ES APPLES IN THE MARKET AS WELL.

Ugh.. she hates not having her early morning slurp of something hot and tasty but it had to be done. What also had to be done was cancelling her hair appointment with L'Oreal as they won't do colour work on a scalp that has hives all over it, that's for sure.

She washed, fed me, looked outside and dressed accordingly. Our Leap Day was bright and clear with a nip in the air. Then she headed for L'Oreal to change her appointment, they took one look and said "you're right, we wouldn't have been able to do any work on you, will March 23rd be ok for you at 1.30 pm? Then on to Charing Cross Hospital for blood tests, which was why she was 'nil by mouth'.

Having done that, she drank a coffee in one of the hospital's cares and pottered off up Dawes Road to the Pet Shop for perch scratchers for me. Then up into the North End Road for fruit. WHAT! Ten fat pregnant oranges for a quid! Grrr. Well, it's a good thing they weren't that price last week or she been in an even bigger mess!

Yes, she's still breaking out in hives, they're boring and itchy-scratchy making to say the least! Last night she should have taken something to deal with the pain but didn't, very silly, so she spent a truly horrid night trying not to scratch her neck and head.

Red seedless grapes and cox'es apples have taken the place of oranges, it being a Monday, she walked up to weigh-in which she would missed if she'd had her hair done. Behind her walked in Pat, who said said "goodness me, what's happened, have you had some form of food poisoning?", our clever, dear Pat did not run those rwo GP surgeries for twenty five years for nothing!

"An allergic reaction to citrus, so yes, I was poisoned, I'm covered in hives, have this filthy cold and feel dreadful with a gruesome headache", Pat nodded and replied "yes, you will do, drink lots and lots of water, eat apples and yogurt and use calamine lotion to ease the itch in those hives, they'll only go when the oranges are completely out of your system, so take some herbal senna tea tonight to wash it out of your digestive tract for a couple of nights and a pain killer so that you can sleep".

Itch Itch.. Scratch Scratch.. which, of course, she doesn't do!

GeeGee Parrot.
