TWO CHICKENS, TWO DUCK BREASTS, VEGETABLES & DANIEL SILVA'S LATEST BOOK 'THE HEIST'.

Oh dear.. the new dentist was very thorough and insisted upon xraying her poor old dodgy wisdom tooth.. and said "it's got to go, I'm sorry, but that shadow is an infection starting and I don't want it to spread, come and see me next week if you can".. oh fiddle-dee-dee, she thought, made an appointment for ten days time and then went out to have a chat with Karen to cheer herself up.

Having bought carrots, onions (we've finished our own), leeks and a new pot of hummus, two big meaty chickens and a pair of duck breasts from Dickinsons the butcher, she went to the library to change more books.

After coming home via the chemist where she found some proper throat pastilles, she put both the chickens into the smaller of the stockpots, with herbs and spices, this simmered until the meat was cooked, that was stripped from the bones and allowed to cool.

The stockpot was filled to the brim with water and put to boil.. yumyum.. this will make soup and stock for the freezer. A load of laundry was put on and she gave us some lunch. She put the chicken meat into tubs and into the freezer.

Then getting a book from old Wicker, she and I went and snuggled into bed.. so cosy.. dark outside.. It looks as if we are, indeed, in for some rough weather but nothing could possibly be as bad as the weather in some parts of the USA. And still California is in dreadful shape with NO rain. Grim.. poor farmers.

The book.. ah yes, one of her favourite thriller writers. I'm off to bed as it is nearly ten o'clock and she'll stay up and finish 'The Heist' by Daniel Silva.. go immediately, if not sooner and find his books.

PipPip.. we had a very curious thing happen yesterday, there was an enormous spike of people in Romania reading my blog, usually we have two or three from there but this was over a hundred and fifty! I wonder why? They were reading old posts.. not recent ones. We'll never know.. strange.. huh?

GeeGee Parrot.
