Home from church, which had a surprisingly large congregation, she decided the Kid stew needed several more hours slow-cooking, so supper was changed to a quick Stir-Fry! Then she had the nicest surprise.
For it was not Blackberries and Apple that were in the bag but the 'Three Black Fruits', as she calls them. Do you have any idea what the other two fruits were?
To give you MAJOR clues, one has a white flower which makes: cordial, wine or champagne and smells good! The other makes Ribena! Go on.. rack that brain! Elderberries and Blackcurrants is the answer.
She remembered that she had picked, poached and bagged up several bags and there aren't many left, but Spring and then Summer will come and so too will these fruits, thank goodness. They were delicious and Goaty Curd added a certain something, as it always does.
We are going to bed early, not because we are tired, but because she has stuff to read and study before a meeting to which she is going in the early evening.
So we hope you are all safe and well. We are envious of Karen, she and Bob are in Vail for a weeks' skiing, the sky was blue and the sun was shining in the photo that she emailed to us earlier.. enjoy it Karen and send us LOTS of sunny snaps to brighten up these dull days.
I know I said my next post would be about RETIREMENT but it has been delayed until Tuesday, no sulking at the back there, for the wait will make you laugh even more when you get it!

Post Script. Well, did you remember to say 'White Rabbits' this morning?
