EVERYBODY'S DOING IT.. DOING IT.. DOING IT.. EVERYBODY'S MAKING BROTH!

Yes, everybody's doing it, they're all boiling bones 'cos broth is hot! Like fashionably HOT and HOT in temperature and, by golly, it does you good.

The Evening Standard wrote about it in yesterday's issue.. on page 29 continuing onto page 30. The writer of the article, Susannah Butler, wrote 'think posh Bovril!' Daft woman.. broth or stock (as it is called by people who have ALWAYS made it ever since they grew up (?) and started cooking proper food) is no more like Bovril than I am like a Macaw.

But, at least the article gets people aware of it, as there are an awful lot of people out there who think they are good cooks who have absolutely NO idea as to how to make it.

And coincidently today, she received an email one of her favourite Food Blogs, Simply Recipes.. oh lordy, that woman shares great recipes with equally great photographs! Today she was giving, don't you love the generosity of these people, the best recipe for French Onion Soup and she said "BEEF BROTH is what you need". Tis true, for the best soup always starts with a great broth / stock, haven't we been banging on about this for ages?

I wish WE did photos, every Blog has photos I say to her, she looks at me and says, "we don't, get over it!"

Moving swiftly along.. she went out just before midday and didn't come home until past seven, it was a good thing I had those dreary seeds to eat, wasn't it?

And when she did come home, I squeaked, for she looked VERY different! She is now a creamy, silvery blonde! They took such a HUGE amount of trouble to get it absolutely perfect, the two colour technicians who worked on her haircolour for over FIVE hours were thrilled with it and so is she, very BIG HUGS were hugged!

But having arrived home, she soon realised the important thing in life and this was making us a proper supper, oh yum, fish was the dish tonight. A piece of salmon cooked on a dry hot plate, seasoned but with no oil, perfect. Slurpyslurp. It was reallyreally good, especially after having had to eat that 'Bird Food' all day.

Now there is an unsuspecting apple waiting to be Beaked and then I have to go and perch on her head to make sure that those two techies didn't fiddle about with 'my nest' too much.

"Now come along little red apple.. don't roll away like that.. come to Beaky".

GeeGee Parrot.
