SALMON & SQUID..

Hello Dear Readers.

WE don't know how to say "Welcome" in Vietnamese to new Dear Reader in Vietnam.. perhaps they are some Dear Reader from elsewhere who is travelling and who has logged on OR perhaps, it IS a Vietnamese person learning how to do Fandango.. I trust all of YOU, who are regular readers, are doing it frequently.. like every day.  Remember MY motto..  if YOU don't use it.. YOU will lose it!

Where was I? Oh.. I had not yet started.. that's ok then.

Right.. off to Radiology Dept at Hospital SHE went.. trundled around and did other stuff.. finally was able to have a very late breakfast.. surely 'nil by mouth' has to be most boring and dreary thing Doctor or nurse can say to one..

Then SHE robbed hole in wall and went off to lubbly-jubbly Fishmonger.. Squidly-Diddly.. SHE pan fries it for a nano-second so it is soft as butter, YOU either cook it for short time or a very loooonngg time, anything in between and it is like rubber rings. FOUL.. two little Sea Bream and FOUR huge evil looking fishy heads went to Mr.Basket. Enormously fierce looking they were too..  they must have been HUGE fish.

A chat with Kaza. oohhh. what delicious things, little Donut Nectarines!  SHE added Lemons, Limes, Persimmons, mixed Peppers to basket, SHE plans to do lots of bottling / canning of this scrumptious summer fruit. delicious in winter, such a treat.

Back home ' slightly' laden to say least, should have taken ole Wicker.. didn't think.

Out with steps, up on top of cupboard live two HUGE stock pots, one bigger than other, smaller of two came down, rinsed, in went four fish heads, two chopped stalks of celery, bay leaves, garlic, peppercorns and filled up with filtered water..

SALMON FISH SOUP.. for tomorrow with toasted slices of baquette and home made aioli, rest goes into freezer as home-made stock.. delicious if making CousCous or a fish sauce.

SHE will pan fry little Bream for tonight's supper, Squidly-Diddly was cooked with garlic and chilli and bottled with olive oil.. such a treat to have on a plate of bulgar wheat, rice or to toss into 'Zaira's' Tomato Sauce.

So fear and worry not Dear Readers, I know times here are 'slightly' strange but I am keeping my beady eye on 'state of nation'.. ie. YumYum HQ and am delighted and very pleased to report "that all is well".

GeeGee Parrot.
