Grumpy.. oh dear, SHE walked all way to Doctor's surgery to find outer door shut.. drat! YOU guessed it! CLOSED.. Half day.
So has to go back tomorrow to get prescription.. boring.. even more boring was forgetting to take money or card with HER so no canoodling with lovely fishmonger or butcher. I suppose HER advanced age has somthing to do with forgetting purse..
I know it is very nice for ME to have HER under MY beady eye but life can be dreary if YOU don't feel great AND SHE is mighty fed-up with dismal weather and feeling 'under par' as it were.
Never mind.. whilst SHE is at home all sorts of stuff has been a'going on. SHE has some facets of character which resemble Magpie.. SHE likes things to be shiny.. even bottom of saucepans. Makes sense I suppose, if they are shiny then that means they are clean and nothing on bottom to cause heat to be displaced whilst cooking so nothing burns. Are YOU still with ME? Are bottoms of YOUR pans all clean and shiny?
HER 'Batterie de Cuisine' has taken many years to collect, one thing which is still as strong as when SHE bought it in 1978, is beloved Magimix.. in days when Dickins & Jones was a proper department store selling everything, now it is jurst a fashion store.
SHE finds things everywhere, favourite utensil for scooping things out of pans is long bamboo handled shallow wire scoop, bought in Chinatown, San Francisco April 1996.. SHE is so funny about dates, SHE remembers strangest details!
HER ancient Mouli's SHE bought in Paris Spring of 1972.. wonders if shop is still exists, SHE is pretty sure that 'Peter' where SHE bought great kitchen knives has either moved or gone, when SHE was in Paris in 2008, SHE looked for tha much beloved shop on rue Boissy-d'Anglais in 8eme but a branch of Cartier is now there.. . HER eldest brother has lived in Paris since 1965, SHE knows city quite well and has old friends there.
Here in London, SHE goes to professional supply shops on Shaftesbury Avenue, Leon Jaggi is HER favourite, helpful people who 'know' their stock, also uses Divertimenti.. be warned, their prices are MUCH higher but some of HER favourite things SHE has found in strangest of places!
Nespresso are now on Brompton Road but until July 24th they were jurst up street on Beauchamp Place.. oh dear, SHE will have to walk an extra minute to get there, shame about that.. SHE LURVES that coffee capsule system! So clever.. so neat, especially as they take back used capsules for recycling.. no wonder George Clooney advertises it..
Ugh, salty water time.. every hour SHE has to gargle with warm water and salt.. poor ole bat.
WE hope to hear from Debi-in-Sheffield soon, SHE went to have chest xray this morning at Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.. why can't I jurst flap a wing or two and make all MY favourite people better?
