FINALLY WE GET 'THE WEATHER'.. YES, IT'S SNOWING HERE IN DEEPEST KNIGHTSBRIDGE.

We haven't actually want it but she certainly felt that London was getting unfairly kind and special treatment with regards to the weather.

Yes, she whined about how cold her head was without a hat and moaned upon opening the door and seeing driving rain and having to change into boots and a raincoat but nothing actually stopped her going out.

Today there were plans of going to the library to replenish reading stock. We woke up late, ate eggs, slurped our tea and spoke to a couple of friends.

Tereza called to ask her if she wanted any books to take to the charity shop and said she would drop them off at our door plus an orange sorbet.

Knock knock went Tereza wearing a very cute hat and holding bags of books.. but what was this?

SNOW!

Well, it had to come, actually her narcissi are showing their noses four or five weeks ahead of schedule and we need this icy cold weather to kill off bugs and other such un-desirables and snow is, actually, very good for the soil.

She was going to raid a shop for yumyum but she investigated the vegetable rack instead and found 'crinkly and very wrinkly' root vegetables.

Chop chop into a big pan they went, along with a chunk of ginger root, several garlic cloves, herbs and spices.

It will hubble-bubble for a couple of hours, then she'll put in a gammon hock bone to cook through and it will become our supper.

We have a huge treat this afternoon! We're going to watch one of Raja's 2 disc dvd sets that he gave her for Christmas.

There is Yellowstone National Park or Wild China, I think she'll just put her hand into the bag and pull out the first one she touches, as both will be magnificent.

That's your lot for now.. stay as warm as you can, keep your head, neck and chest covered, take ginger and cloves and be sensible if you have to use your car, take a shovel, a thermos of hot tea, blankets, a fully charged mobile.. don't take unnecessary risks.

Check on your elderly neighbours, put water, with a bit of olive or sunflower oil in it, and food out for birds.

Wash your dogs and cats feet if they have been anywhere near or on roads that have had salt put down by the local councils.

Read our blog. Well, that goes without saying for isn't laughter the best medicine?
