"SELAMAT PETANG" TO OUR FIRST MALAYSIAN DEAR READER..

SHE is SO happy.. oh so happy! For WE have just seen that WE have had a Dear Reader from Malaysia.. the first!

Now, unless YOU have been diligent and read all of the Posts on MY Blog, YOU will not be aware of why this makes HER so happy, so I will rescue  YOU from the agonising state of being un-informed.

SHE was born in the BMH in Kuala Lumpur, BMH stands for British Military Hospital. HER father served with The Malay Regiment in the Communist Emergency which ran from 1947 through to 1960.

SHE was brought to England in December 1953 and found the whole experience VERY traumatic.

It was bitterly cold, the food was beyond strange and where was HER: beach, dog, father, friends and why was Constance insisting upon speaking in English, was SHE not going back home?

Home being, as far as SHE knew, Malaysia..

Because for all of HER short life SHE had spoken
Malay much more than English but Constance realised would not be good for HER schooling in England. Since leaving Malaysia, SHE has never spoken one word of HER first spoken tongue..

So WE both welcome YOU, Dear Reader in Malaysia, the land of HER birth and WE send YOU OUR very best wishes.

GeeGee Parrot.
