Apparently it was bright and cold today but with no rain at the allotments.
Old Jack Frost was certainly there last night, he left the Broad / Fava Beans alone but had nipped one of the Peonies that were planted last autumn.. norty Jack.
I did not go because SHE was carrying pots of seedlings to plant, French Beans, Runner Beans and two types of Peas.
Lots more bulbs were planted, some Iris and more of those dark red Gladioli. Very sadly, a couple of the new Rose bushes don't look too happy, SHE will give them a month to see if they cheer up.
The small square beds which have the Apple trees in the middle were weeded, there is lots of action going on in these two beds!
There are Lilies of the Valley, Freesias, white Lilies and other Lilies, their name escapes us, they look just like Butterflies. Also lots and lots of Narcissi.
It is looking to be a GREAT year for Lily of the Valley! Both at home and at the allotment, they are spreading happily, such a glorious perfume!
The newly planted Currant bushes are all good except for one Black Currant, it looks to be dead, SHE will give it a couple of months to see if it shoots.
But HER idea to use an inner tube and a Jubilee Clip, because the new taps are of such a fancy
design, they will not take a hose! Very silly.
One day last week, 'it' came to HER. An inner
tube from a bicycle is much more malleable than
an hose and a Jubilee Clip slips onto anything.
Perfect.. great solution. Problem solved, all SHE has to do is slip the tube over a hose using another Jubilee Clip to secure the two together.
SHE is not just a pretty face MY mum but I am afraid to say, SHE did get some 'strange' looks on the bus coming home tonight.
SHE was so tired and not about to heat up water to wash HER face, so SHE had a 'slightly' grubby
face and very dirty hands when SHE got on the
bus and fell asleep!
WE are having an early bed tonight. I get a cuddle and a kiss, then off to bed. Oh, but before WE go, thanks to lots and lots of YOU Dear Readers, this month had the most readers! How about that!
