LOUIS LATOUR MACON-LUGNY '71

Why is this Post about a white Burgundy?

Because early in 1973 SHE started to work for a friend of Constance and travelled to America.. HER first stop was Washington. DC.

SHE had spoken with Bill and asked him to find her a place to stay, however, when he met HER flight he said "Darling, you can either stay with me or with Barbara, it's Nixon's re-election week and there is not a hotel room to be had anywhere".

SHE stayed in him in Georgetown, the re-election week was amazing, they went to lots of Embassy parties, private ones and had a very happy time.

There will be more on Barbara, Nat, Betty and the 'F' Street Club in another Post.

SHE had to go on and continue HER trip around the USA to justify this BIG wage that SHE was being paid. So.. next stop.. Chicago, Illinois..

Oh.. so cold! SHE did the first day's business, then retreated to the hotel as fast as SHE could to ask the concierge "Where can I get ski clothes?" And the next day, SHE went to work in a ski parka..

The 'things' SHE was looking for were available but at a price. SHE knew why SHE had been hired to do this buying trip, the prices would have been higher if Mona and her colleagues were known to be the buyers.

Whilst SHE was dealing with this stuff, SHE was thinking of what to send with HER "Thank you" note to Bill.

He had been so very sweet and extraordinarily generous host.. SHE was in Tiffany's on North Michigan Avenue when 'it' came to HER.

Louis Latour Macon-Lugny '71, a case of this white Burgundy would be perfect.

Then SHE flew down to Dallas on Braniff, YES, it was that long ago.

This is too long a Tale for one Post, SHE gardened in the fresh air so WE are off to bed. Sleepy..

GeeGee Parrot.
