It has been a funny old day here today, old sun was not in evidence and she explained that we were probably still under the pollution which is being caused by the Sahara and Moroccan sand.
She always has a chore to do but, of course, being my mum, can also be tempted to play a game of Tomfoolery with me at the drop of a piece of cardboard!
What am I talking about? Well, in the bathroom is a cupboard, whose top is large enough for me to gambol about on. Rudi the Reindeer lives up there and the odd inner roll of a lavatory roll.
Oh, these are so obliging for being a roll, they do just that, roll about, that is until I pounce on it and give it a good Beaking.. and rip it to shreds!
If she is in the room, I drop it over the edge, she picks them up and a splendid game begins! As she wrote to MaryLou this morning, it seems highly unlikely that either of us will ever grow up. Sigh..
Chuckle, who would want us to 'grow-up'? There are enough serious people in the world without us being afflicted with that status as well! Now, we are very grown-up and responsible about some things but as for the rest, leave it to the Marines.
But talking about being grown-up is not the same is looking grown-up, as the following post will demonstrate.
She had for many years an incredibly nice Italian client, who was always beautifully turned out. One day, she asked this lovely woman "what do you do, I know you work because your assistant calls me sometimes", the answer was "I work for Bulgari".
She has seen her since they both retired and was more than delighted to be asked to join her and another couple tomorrow at the Victoria & Albert Museum for the opening of a new exhibition.
The subject of the exhibition 'The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945 - 2014'. Sponsored by Bulgari.
Yubbadubbadoo.. as Barney Flintstone would say!
So, Dear Readers, this is why she spent time at home today, apart from not wanting to deal with that filthy pollution as it had made her feel tired yesterday after she spent most of the day breathing in all that junk, she washed her hair, put a lotion on it and proceed to 'set it' with those scary pink rollers!
She disappeared into the back cupboard coming out with two outfits, for who knows what norty old weather will be playing at tomorrow? It could be like Sunday which was balmy, truly a glorious summer's day or it could be chilly-billy.. brrr.
Bag and shoes polished.. she is ready to go and see some chic stuff and is hoping it will feature a lot of another old client's work.
It was something that she has always loved, his colours were glorious, the fabrics wonderful and the 'scale' of the clothes was perfect. In fact, it was just like Signor Garavani's own house in London.
We will report her findings tomorrow and tell you all about it.. but, of course, you would recognise Signor Garavani by his first name.. Valentino.
So you see, Dear Readers, hence the reason that some 'pretty grown-up clothes' with a bit of jewellery is the Order of Dress tomorrow.
GeeGee Parrot.
