Yes, I am talking about my mum and no, I am not being smarmy or trying to curry favour with her. I am merely repeating what old Wicker said after she patted him on his handle and said "that will do".
Yes, folks, dear old Wicker will get to jaunt out and about for she has fixed the problem of his bottom falling out!
It took cunning (she's got a lot of that), a wire coat hanger, a pair of pliers and Bob's your uncle, he is ready to roll again. And yes, she did actually have an uncle called Bob.
Well, we have had a very different day to the one that we were going to have, that is for sure.
But different is good, sometimes, and today was no exception. She can go to the garden tomorrow to plant whatever those triffids actually are.
She did stuff for a friend, then it was really too late to go the garden, so she took a look at a tiny tray of seedlings in the sitting room.
The seven 'Sunbaby' Cherry tomato seeds that she planted on March 14th have grown splendidly and are showing their true leaves, a tomato leaf instead of a leaf that could belong to just about anything.
She potted up the seven little seedlings into plastic pots and planted them in moist compost almost up to their bottom leaf, this allows them to grow a good, strong root system and they will be potted up once more before they are finally planted into 5 Gallon tubs.
These delicious yellow cherry tomato plants are kept at home, to eat just-picked warm tomatoes is one of her ideas of heaven and I just lurve these cute little yellow babies!
There is lots to do.. she has rather neglected the house and it needs a scrub-and-a-dub but that is not going to happen today.
She will make something delicious for us to eat and then that will be it for today. We awoke very early this morning as she had to do stuff, that and not sleeping properly, or rather not getting a good nights' sleep, has made her tired and we can't have that, can we Dear Readers?
Farewell but like General Douglas MacArthur said "I will be back".. She and I will be here tomorrow.
