A MINI POST OF SORTS..

The mobile rang, Maria said "I am here" and three minutes later.. zoom.. she left the flat!

To come back much later and say "well, that was an unusual day, now, what have we got for supper because I am starving!"

What did she do, who was Maria, where did they go? Who knows, not I. I was just pleased to see her and equally pleased to fly into YumYum HQ.

With a little bit of that and a little bit of this, one can usually scratch a tasty morsel of two together from our chilly white larder. She had cold roast chicken and a small herbal salad. I had the rest of my morning egg, a smidgeon of chicken, a slice of rye bread and I have just watched her put a 'good' handful of cashew nuts into my bowl.

All is well in our world. Now what this coming week hold for us? She has something to do at noon, then will go to the garden to cut the grass and finish weeding the Peony beds.

Yes, plural as they are growing along most of the front of the plots. The last section will be Plot 35 where they will do excellently!

It is a monster of a plot! From the fence inwards to a depth of about five metres, it is a solid pile of stones, they were tipped there when they did the railway line and the pile is over a metre deep!

How does she know these grim details? Because she laboriously dug picked out four deep holes which she lined in earth and planted four fruit trees on the pile. Amazingly enough, they have all grown very well!

There is a thin layer of earth on the top and as Peonies only like to be planted about an inch deep, this measly amount will suit them very well. If you plant them too deeply, they grow but do not flower well, if at all.

She will plant more Peonies in the autumn and she, of course, will go to her favourite supplier. They are called Peony Nursery and are based in Lithuania.

www.peonynursery.com is the place to find these treasures that she loves so much. The prices are wonderful as are their plants, even if you don't want any, go and have a look at the website.

Getting ahead of ourselves, I will go with her on Tuesday when she is not carrying other things, we will leave early and stay for most of the day, it will be good to be out in the fresh air and to chirp and whistle and toot my toot.

But now it is time to go to bed.. so PipPip to you all Dear Readers.. PipPip.
