A SOBER POSTSCRIPT TO THIS MORNING'S TALE..

There has just been a programme about the storms which battered the UK and northern Europe this winter.

Now, WE sat and watched the weather news every night, but to have the entire winter's weather compressed into an hour long film, really brought it home as to how appalling and deeply distressing it has been to a huge amount of people.

Homes swept away along many coastal parts of the country and the tragic loss of : human lives, animals, land and possessions.

The last interview was with a farmer in Somerset. He has farmed this land for over FORTY years and the camera panned around as it followed the sweep of his hand..

And all that was there, as far as the eye could see, was flooded land and he said "that land is my farm, it is the source of income for my family, how am I supposed to grow or rear anything in these conditions?".

The UK is due for more rain tomorrow night, they are forecasting similar severe weather conditions to yesterdays, which brought in snow and gales.

So please be aware that when WE say lovely things about Spring, WE are not oblivious to the distress and sadness of people less fortunate.
