Brrrr.. ugh.. not nice.. in fact, cold and wet.. sigh.
She thought it was a bad dream, having been dry under foot, bright to the eye and warm for four days, to wake up yesterday to a glum and gloomy day was a big shock to her system.
And it proceeded to get chillier and wetter as the day went on, coming back from her last jaunt the heavy rain started. So we gave up, we had supper and retired to her cosy bed very early.
But the rain is good for the garden, very necessary, in fact, for everything is growing on well, it will be an astounding year for fruit, with the exception of cherries, we had that dreadfully cold and windy snap just at the wrong time and our cherry harvest will be very small this year.
It is a great pity that we don't eat grass! For we have an excellent on-going harvest of that stuff.. which she has to cut today.
She will pull a couple of garlic, new season fresh garlic is wonderful, the taste is delicious and there is a fine crop this year.
The blackberries will be stunning this year, a patch she didn't cut down have all flowered, she will pick them and then cut the briars down and try to get the roots out.
Why don't they just stay at the edge of the plots? This way she would not constantly have this war with them! Grrr.
But the garden earth is very fertile and those evil roots creep around underground and if she does not dig them up and destroy those little shoots, the next minute they are up and growing to the sky!
Lapy-Sang time, she woke up very early with a strange dream, it is nearly seven of the morning clock, time for our first cup plus a cuddle.
I will be back later, no, I don't want to go to a wet and windy garden, I prefer to sit on pole and people watch to being wet and windblown, but she has to go.
