Oh.. what a time we have had here! I am not sure where to start but the beginning is always the best place, so back I go to last week end.
She got this bug, we now know it was a bug as we know four people, none of whom could have given it to her, who have had exactly the same symptoms, which were extremely unpleasant, to say the least!
So that wiped out a full day and then she felt somewhat better but still had no real appetite, you have to know that she was not 100% if I say this as both of us love our yumyum.
The food she ate for the next two days was light, then yesterday, she went to work at the shop and oh dear, oh dear.. her old problem of years past came back and she felt, suddenly, most weird.
About an hour after feeling weird, a charming customer came into the shop. She took lots of things to try on and whilst she was doing so, she had a 'drama'. It is too long and involved a story to go into what the drama was but she started crying, was in distress and very embarrassed.
They sat her down and said "just sit, you are amongst women, don't cry, it's ok, rest quietly".
She was giving the customer some water and talking to her and the woman suddenly asked her a question. My mum smiled and said "I know what you are going through, for I am under Charing Cross".
The woman said "NO! Out of all the places it has to happen, it happens in a little shop where I meet someone with the same thing, how extraordinary is this". We say 'Coincidence?' Who knows but what are the odds of this?
There was no point in her going to the hospital because she has to be 'nil by mouth' for at least twelve hours, she called the surgery this morning when she came back, they are truly overwhelmed with this wretched bug and she has taken an early appointment on Monday.
She was given one for this afternoon but said no to it as she has no intention of going anywhere where there are lots of other buggy people, at least first thing on Monday she will be the first person in and out of there! That is all she does not need is another bout of the wretched bug!
Early this morning, she decided "rats to this", got out of bed very early and went to do a friend's window box, no point in being glum and besides, there was her huge treat to look forward to!
Which was Chinese YumYum in Soho today with Tereza! And they brought home a morsel for me! In a box in the YumYum HQ there is a little bit of fish with some beans with chilli and garlic, how sweet is that?
Chilli and garlic and other herbs and spices will be in our food for the next week, together with a easy to digest menu of mostly fruit and vegetables.
We hope that you haven't had this bug and that you don't get it for it is extremely nasty and it strikes quickly! Lots of fluids, chicken soup, green apples, proper yoghurt are the best things for you but the main, and most important, thing is fluids. For being dehydrated is not good for you.
Wash your hands, especially if you have been on any public transport or with other people!
Onto other things. Oh, goodness me. It is wet out there, very wet and they say that we are in for a couple of days of heavy rain and high winds, gee great, thanks a bunch, just what we don't want!
Sigh, she cut her and Ros's grass on Tuesday in a t.shirt! It seems like a dream as the sky is now dark grey and it is only ten degrees. Where did that silly Spring go, huh? It was hotter in March, we're now in mid May!
Snug as bugs at home is where we are this evening. I have Chinese YumYum and she has three new books to read.
"Stay snug and carry on" is my motto, plus, of course, FlapFlap and PipPip Dear Readers.
