WILD CHINA.. A SERIES FROM THE BBC NATURAL HISTORY UNIT.

Now, you cannot call watching three brilliant programmes on 'Wild China' lolling. Yes, in bed she most certainly was and I was perched up on her head but we weren't 'lolling' about, that's for sure.

There are six programmes in a 2 disc set which we were given for Christmas by Raja. We saw the second half of the second and all of the third programme when the series was shown on television last year but we missed the rest of the series and were, therefore, thrilled when we opened his gift.

The three programmes on disc one are: Heart of the Dragon, Shangri-La and Tibet. the disc is 2.56 hours long.

So we were not lolling about, we were watching truly extraordinary educational films. The photography was wonderful, as you expect from this unit of the BBC.

The only criticism of this and other BBC documentaries is that the music, which plays throughout the film, is sometimes too loud.

Whilst watching the films we shared a mini.. very mini.. snack of hard goats cheese with apple and bramble jelly, I was only given a minute bit of the jam due to my habit of wiping Beaky on the nearest thing and as it was her head that I was sitting upon, you'll understand why.

Never mind, she did something to make up for the lack of jam, she undid the top of the kilner jar in which our shelled walnuts live, laid it on its' side on the bed and I plucked up enough courage and learnt how to extend my neck far enough inside the jar so Beaky could reach them.

She'll be going out tomorrow, I heard her speaking to Anissa making an appointment to have her hair cut in the afternoon, she'll come home with eggs and some fruit, settle me in for the night with my yumyum, then she go upstairs for supper with Tereza.

It's now nearly 9.00pm and we want to watch the news, so we say "Goodnight" to you all and if you can get BBC iPlayer, go and get hold of the Wild China programmes.. you won't be disappointed.

Chirp and Burp.. pardon me, too many walnuts!

GeeGee Parrot.
