The day, which had started off 'fine & dandy' rapidly deteriorated into a grimly cold, wet winter's day.
But there was much to do: dry cleaning to collect, a coat given to her tailor, frames given to the opticians, our supply of cheese, grapes, eggs, pomegranates replenished and she had a hair appointment at 4.00pm.
Luckily, most of it could be done on the North End Road and, if she came back via the Cromwell Road branch of Sainsbury's, she could get her favourite rice crackers and gluten, wheat free sweet biscuits.
Anissa, her hairdresser, said "what would you like, it's grown a lot",she replied "let's take it really short on the sides and back and a lot of the top" and that's what she got!
Her hair is now mostly brilliant platinum, only at the base of her skull and around her ears is her hair grey, the cut took a long time.
She can wear it straight back, this way looks as if she has a chignon, until she turns and you realise, it's shorter than most men's hair!
Or she can wear it spiky with a bit of a fringe, she's thrilled and was happy when she met a friend in Sainsburys who said "Wow, your hair cut is amazing, it takes years off your face, who cut it for you?"
Needless to say, she was only too happy to give them Anissa's* details!
Back home, she gave me more yumyum, collected grapes, rice crackers and gluten free biscuits and
went upstairs for supper with Tereza and Rebecca.
What a supper! Fresh beautifully cooked scallops with their roe, a sweet tasting stew with lots of onions, carrots and parsnips, just how she likes them and delicious cheeses and grapes.
Then they settled down to watch episodes four, five and six of The Marvellous Mrs. Meisel.
There really are too many funny bits for her to recount them all but.. the scene where the man from Bell Laboratories says to her father "And I don't think your daughter's two arrests should have any bearing on the issue of you passing security", was without doubt.. brilliant!
Her parents have NO idea what she's up to and, of course, you don't either unless you have a friend who subscribes or you subscribe to Amazon Prime, in which case I recommend that you watch this series, for the acting is great, the dialogue is witty, the sets are brilliant and the costumes are absolutely spot on!
Their next television date is for the Friday after next, they ration themselves to only three episodes per session!
And now, despite the fact it is another grim and grizzly day, she's going out but not of course to the garden. She's going to have after lunch coffee and biscuits with our Lebanese friends who live nearby.
I'll doze, then when she comes back, we will have an early supper of gammon and vegetables and watch the rest of the Wild China programmes.
She lent the Yellowstone dvd to Tereza and her daughters, it's a wonderful natural history programme.
Recently there was a programme on the Highlands of Scotland. Which, due to being over grazed by deer and sheep for a couple of centuries, have been almost completely de-forested.
It is a shocking sight to see, acre after acre, mile upon mile of land with not a tree, or shrub or any flora, except heather, in sight.
There's a man who wants to bring back the large predators to his land, by these he means bears, wolves and also beavers. The difference the reintroduction of these animals has made upon Yellowstone has been extraordinary.
Please watch this programme, it was filmed by the BBC Natural History Unit, look at the rich diversity of the flora and fauna, the sight of land with trees and undergrowth.
Then watch the programme on the Scottish Highlands, the difference will make you weep.
Okay.. off we go.. diddly do.. rather her than me!
