A strange day in deepest Knightsbridge.

Well, it was. She slept very badly, having had to get up twice in the night to be sick (very strange as she has a digestion made out of cast iron).

So our weekend did not whoosh off as it usually does as she was feeling peculiar. She had not eaten anything that was out of the ordinary, just a bug I guess, which is better out than in, to put it politely.

Three bundles left with her this afternoon when she and old Wicker Wheelie creaked their way down the road to South Kensington. The bundles were full of clothes she has donated to the shop.

No point in keeping clothes that either don't fit or that you don't have a use for any longer and handbags, lots of them went as well.

Then she came home, she thought about going onto the garden, but the journey to the garden takes over an hour at the weekend and even longer now that both Putney and Hammersmith bridges are closed.. ugh.. lots of extra traffic on the A316.

And the weather is playing silly games, will it rain, won't it rain? So she decided that it would be better to go tomorrow before mid-day to pick the blackberries and, hopefully, some white figs.

She gets up very early, makes coffee and goes outside, to smell the morning air, water the herbs and tomatoes and has breakfast with Little Dove.

Yes, Dear Readers, for he is very well and coping splendidly with his wonky toes. He has gained weight and 'thumps' his way down the steps to say "hello" to her most mornings.

There is always a plant saucer of fresh water from which he drinks and then they have their chat.

It is very special to have gained the trust of a totally wild bird and no, I am not jealous, for I have her under my toes every day, plus I have access to proper food and water all day long.

Besides, I am usually still fast asleep, I get up at 09.00 of the morning clock.

She is going to go to bed early tonight, last night was not a very restful experience and so she will curl up with a book for an hour and then it will be lights out.

PipPip, Dear Readers, PipPip, I trust your week-end is peaceful.
