"WOW".. is all SHE could say when SHE woke old iPad up this morning..
Yesterday, whilst the rain was thundering down, SHE read that the wife of a couple of writers that SHE met in Spain (circa 1974) had died, she actually had died many years ago but it had escaped HER notice.
So SHE sent the husband a short email saying that SHE was sorry to have read of her death and that his wife had been extremely kind to HER, a much younger woman, by giving HER a very wise piece of advice.
SHE did not act on this advice immediately but when a couple of 'strange' things happened, SHE did and was extremely glad that SHE DID.
Now back to "WOW".. YOU see the couple were Jane and Burt Boyar, they co-wrote several excellent books, the first being 'YES I CAN' which they wrote with Sammy Davies, Jr which was published in 1965.
And waiting for HER this morning was an email
from Burt Boyar. In which he expressed his thanks for "your very kind and welcome comments about Jane", the rest of the email was about his very much beloved wife and it made HER smile, for they were, without doubt, some of the most touching words SHE has ever read.
And for this charming man to have had the courtesy to respond with appreciation to a strangers' email reassured US that kindness and manners are still being practised..
