Well.. having missed the party last night, our life surely had to take a turn for the better, did it not? And what could possibly be better than turning on the television - she said it was to stop me being bored whilst she slept (yes, she's still in bed). And finding.. oh.. lookielookie!!
'Carry on Cruising'! Just the thing to keep a bird and her mum amused.. with Syd James, Kenneth Williams, Lance Percival, Liz Fraser etc. Anything to keep us amused and this lot will certainly do that!
Did you all enjoy your evening? We didn't see it! We were asleep by about 10.30pm, she woke up just after midnight and said "Byebye 2016, you've been a very strange year and it hasn't been a happy one for us, let's us hope, in fact, pray that 2017 is kinder" and with that, she swallowed a pill and went back to bed.
So here we are, lolling about in bed. It's foggy and wet upon the ground. We had a call from BUB.. aka her cousin Bruce. BUB stands for Big Uncle Bruce. He says it is bright and 'cracking a whip' up on the Isle of Man.
Our Lebanese friend, Myra, has called from Paris to wish us a 'Happy New Year', she was due back after Christmas but her brother is ill, so her return is delayed, she says that Paris has the same weather as London and that the atmosphere in Paris is subdued, with people celebrating at home and her butcher reporting a significant increase in customers.
The amount of food that has been consumed since last Thursday in our house is neglible! She still boils us our eggs in the morning but I now have hummus for lunch, together with a chunk of juicy persimmon / kaki / sharon fruit, it's a good thing that she has a washable cover over her comforter, isn't it!
She has the other three quarters of this divine orange fruit, some steamed vegetables and lots to drink with spicy ginger and turmeric and that's it. Her appetite has vanished and so, too, have several kilos. She can think of nicer ways to lose weight.. like gardening in sunshine! Sunshine! We haven't seen any for days and I don't think anyone is likely to see her for days either!
She's turned off her bedside light, there is another 'Carry on' film showing with Hattie Jacques and Barbara Windsor! Bliss.
